Chief Vehicle Engineer
Born in France in 1963, Loic Bouttier holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from INSA Lyon.
He started his career in 1986 as a durability test engineer at Renault’s engineering center in Rueil-Malmaison, France. In 1988, Loic Bouttier continued his career as Technical Project Manager for engine & components sales at Renault’s powertrain business unit. In 1996, he joined Renault’s purchasing organization, specializing in production equipment for automatic gearboxes. In 2000, he joined the engineering department in charge of gearboxes, as Mechanical Gearbox Project Leader for small-car range.
In 2006, Loic Bouttier was appointed Global Head of Quality for Duster project in Renault’s Quality Department.
In 2011, he got involved in Renault’s gas applications, becoming Chief Vehicle Engineer for all Renault-Dacia LPG and CNG projects. He oversaw the launch of LPG applications for Renault Clio, Twingo, Captur, Dacia Sandero & Logan, Dacia Duster, Dacia Lodgy & Dokker. Under his leadership, Renault Group deployed a strong boost plan for LPG sales in Europe, growing its volumes from 11,000 sales in 2011 to over 100,000 sales from mid-2018 to mid-2019.
